Wednesday Afternoon Wintry Weather Update

Tennessee Valley (WDEF) Brief break in the action, but more wintry weather ahead.

A more powerful winter storm will move through the southeast Wednesday afternoon and night potentially bringing significant accumulations over much of the tri-state area.

This will be mostly a snow event with no freezing rain expected.

That will be better for the trees and power lines in this particular storm.

The snow will begin with temperatures above freezing, but into the night as temperatures drop below freezing travel will become very hazardous as snowfall totals between 2-4 inches much of the area are likely.

The storm moves out quickly, so Thursday should be drier with highs well above freezing.
