Weekend events in the Chattanooga area
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – There’s a lot to do here in Chattanooga, and in nearby cities this Mother’s Day weekend. Let’s take a look at what’s going on.
If you like beer, Chattabrewga is back tomorrow for its fifth year.
For $50, you get unlimited craft beer samples.
$30 more gets you access to a VIP lounge, where you can eat food paired with notable beers.
The event is from noon to five at the First Tennessee Pavilion.
It’s, of course, for ages 21 and up.
In Dayton, you can celebrate the city’s “Berry” Happy Birthday with its 70th annual Tennessee Strawberry Festival.
It’s already underway, but tomorrow at 1PM, you can check out the strawberry parade.
There’s also a carnival with rides, musical performances throughout the day, and of course plenty to eat.
The event is downtown.
Back in the scenic city, help raise money for the Chattanooga Zoo by attending Spirits in the Wild.
Get a rare look at the zoo animals at night, and learn more about the facility’s future plans and conservation efforts.
You can do all this, while sampling food and drinks from area restaurants, and enjoying live music.
Tickets are $40 for zoo members, and $50 for non-members.
The event is from 6PM to 10PM.
At Rock City, you and mom can enjoy Southern Blooms and Founder’s Day festivities all weekend long.
Help Rock City honor its original gardener, and learn about the history behind the gardens, this spring.
Kids can enjoy educational flower craft activities, and southern food will be available.
The even is from 10AM to 5PM both days.
If you’d rather make the drive to Atlanta, you can check out lots of live bands at the Shaky Knees Music Festival.
Dozens of groups, including Phoenix, The Pixies, and Third Eye Blind, will be performing all day and night on both Saturday and Sunday.
There will also be plenty of food vendors.
Join again next friday for another Emily’s list, as she take a look at some fun weekend events happening throughout Tennessee and Georgia.
