Weekend road closures in Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Below are upcoming road closures and changes for this weekend, according to the Chattanooga Department of Public Works, Transportation Division.
Nightfall 2026
The following locations will be closed or restricted on Fridays between May 1st and July 31st for the weekly free concert series:
3 p.m. – Midnight
Cherry Street between W 8th Street and E Martin Luther King Blvd
All street parking restricted within closure
5 p.m. – Midnight
Market Street between W 8th Street and W 10th Street
Martin Luther King Blvd between Broad Street and Georgia Ave
All street parking restricted within closure
Recommended detour routes:
Broad Street, Georgia Ave, Lindsay Street, W 10th Street and W 11th Street
Hill City Neighborhood Association Play Streets
Lawn Street between Spears Ave and Hamilton Ave will be closed Friday, June 5th from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. for HCNA Play Streets.
North Chattanooga Neighborhood Association Play Streets
Boylston Street between Liberty Street and Beck Ave will be closed Friday, June 5th from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. for NCNA Play Streets..
Chattanooga Corporate Challenge
The following roads will be closed to through traffic or other restrictions in place on Saturday, June 6th, for the Chattanooga Corporate Challenge
From 5:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.:
Reggie White Blvd between the Skate Park north entrance and W 19th Street
From 7 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.:
W 20th Street northbound between Chestnut Street and W Main Street
W Main Street between Chestnut Street and W 20th Street
Chestnut Street between W Main Street and W 20th Street
Southside Porchfest
The following streets will be closed or restricted on Saturday, June 6th at the respective times listed for Southside Porchfest:
W 17th Street from Long to Williams: 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
E 17th Street from Mitchell to Read: 8:30 a.m. – 7 PM
Mitchell Street from E 17th to E 19th Street: 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
E 18th Street from Jefferson to Madison: 4 p.m. – 11 p.m.
Jefferson Street from E 17th to E 19th: 4 p.m. – 11 p.m.
Riverfront Nights
Riverfront Parkway between Chestnut Street and Power Alley will be closed on Saturday, June 6th from Noon until 11:15 p.m. for Riverfront Nights.
All tractor trailers will be prohibited between MLK Blvd and Aquarium Way on Riverfront Parkway and must use the signed detour route.
Chattanooga Market
Reggie White Blvd between W 20th Street and the Skate Park/Dog Park entrance will be closed Sunday, June 7th from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. for the Chattanooga Market.
