Weston Wamp narrowly wins Republican nod for Hamilton County Mayor
Smedley: "God will choose the next chapter in my life."
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The Hamilton County Mayor’s race has been close all night on the Republican side.
But after trailing Sabrina Smedley in the early going, Weston Wamp pulled ahead for a razor thin victory.
The final, unofficial results are:

That’s just 321 votes between first and second.
There is no runoff in Hamilton County.
The results raise the very real possibility that a brother and sister could hold two key seats in Hamilton County government.
Weston is the brother of Coty Wamp, who easily won her primary over incumbent District Attorney Neal Pinkston.
Both still must defeat Democratic opponents in the general election.
Weston will face Matt Adams in November.
