What’s Trending? Jared Fogle’s Prison Beating, was Ted Cruz in Stryper, & Universal adds a Chocolate Factory

Former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle took a beating in prison in late January. TMZ reports inmate Steven Nigg started punching Fogle in the recreation yard at the Englewood Federal Prison in Littleton, Colorado. Fogle ended up with a bloody nose and swollen face. Nigg’s family told TMZ he’s angry because so many child sex predators are housed at the low-security prison. Fogle is serving 15-years for possessing child pornography and paying for sex with underage prostitutes.

A fun theory continues to make the rounds online. Was Republican Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz the lead singer of Stryper? Check out the picture in the video. The resemblance is pretty uncanny. Stryper was a popular 80’s Christian heavy metal band. They actually released a new album last October.

Frank Sinatra Junior has died at the age of 72. The Sinatra family issued a statement saying Sinatra died unexpectedly yesterday of cardiac arrest while on tour in Daytona Beach, Florida. He followed his dad into the music business. Frank Junior worked as his father’s musical director and conductor.

Adam LaRoche plans to take his bat and glove… and head home. Told to cut down his son’s time in the clubhouse, the Chicago White Sox first baseman took a different path. He plans to retire and walk away from a $13 million salary. White Sox President Kenny Williams confirms that he twice asked LaRoche in the last week to “dial it back” with his 14-year-old son.

Universal Studios in Orlando plans to open a Willy Wonka styled restaurant later this year. The Toothsome Chocolate Factory & Savory Feast Emporium will have a 19th-century steampunk theme. You’ll be able to indulge your appetite amidst towering smoke stacks, funky gadgetry, and lots of chocolate. The attraction will be along Universal’s CityWalk.
