Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office Warns Of Phone Scam Impersonating Officer

Dalton, GA (WDEF) The Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office warns about a telephone scam where the suspect impersonates an officer.

He tells victims to pay $1500 or be arrested for missing jury duty.

The suspect used the name Mike Ayers or Harris.

He told them to get a Green Dot card and read him the card numbers.

Whitfield County officials say this is a scam.

They never call people or tell them to pay to avoid arrest.
