Whitfield Sheriff’s Office arrests man responsible for false Facebook document

DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) – On Saturday, May 13, the Whitfield Sheriff’s Office was made aware of a Facebook document which was being shared that allegedly showed Confidential Informant names allegedly working for Whitfield County.

Sheriff Scott Chitwood is stating the document was not released by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office and is a false document.

During the course of the investigation to identify the person(s) responsible for creating and dissemination this false document, it was determined that the offender who made this C.I. document was Ermon “Bud” Mulkey, III. Hwas arrested Saturday on outstanding warrants and at the time of his arrest he was found to be in possession of a quantitu of Methamphetamine.

Ermon “Bud” Mulkey, III will be additionally charged with Reckless Conduct, Forgery, Computer Crimes, and Identity Fraud for making and distributing the false Confidential Information document.

This investigation is continuing and additional arrests are suspected.
