Why a Teacher Is Also In Trouble For A School Prank at Sylvania on Sand Mountain
SYLVANIA, Ala. (AP) – A band director with Sylvania High School has been placed on administrative leave with pay after posting a rant on Facebook about students who played a messy senior prank on the school.
Multiple news sources report Cindy Stephens was placed on leave after posting on Facebook that she wished jailhouse sexual assault on the pranksters. On Tuesday night, four students scattered chicken litter, a mix of chicken feces, feed, wood shavings, sawdust and other bedding materials across campus. The school had to be shut down early the following day.
Sylvania Police Chief ross Greenwood says the students are extremely remorseful, and have agreed to pay for the cleanup, which is estimated to be in the thousands. They have also agreed to do 120 hours of community service at the school.
