Winchester Police shoot suspect during fight

WINCHESTER, Tennessee (WDEF) – The TBI has been requested to investigate the shooting of a suspect in Winchester on Thursday night.

City police got a call about a domestic disturbance at South College Street around 10 PM.

TBI officials say the officers took a man into custody without incident, but then ran into another man in a vehicle.

The officers say they saw him racking a pistol.

He then tried to drive off and hit another vehicle in the parking lot, along with the porch post of the business.

The preliminary TBI information is that the suspect then fled on foot with officers chasing him.

The officers caught him, got into a fight in which the suspect got control of a stun gun.

the report says he used it on an officer.

That’s when an officer shot him.

36 year old Kenneth Jeremy Blair died from his injuries.

None of the police officers suffered serious injuries.
