Wintry Weather Friday Afternoon Update

UPDATE: Biggest burst of snow expected between 5-7 p.m. Friday night. 

After that, light wintry mix!

Tennessee Valley (WDEF) As of 3:15 Friday, light snow is falling across much of the area.

This will continue and pick up some for the next few hours with light accumulation up to an inch in many areas, causing some slick roadways.

Areas of snow will transition early Friday night to a wintry mix.

It will change to areas of freezing rain and drizzle later Friday night through Saturday morning, where travel could be hazardous in many areas.

The freezing drizzle will change to light rain or drizzle mid-morning on Saturday in most areas as warmer air moves in from the Southwest.

Rain will become heavy Saturday night, but temperatures will remain well above freezing.
