Women’s Policy Conference honors Dr. Carol Berz
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- The 7th annual Statewide Women’s Policy Conference was held on Thursday and Friday.
The conference is designed for women to come together to discuss issues most important to them.
This year, the conference is being dedicated to the late Dr. Carol Berz, who passed away in December.
She was one of the founders of this conference.
Her daughter and now councilwoman, Jenni Berz, says this conference was very important to her mother.
“Dr. Berz believed in empowerment and rolling up our sleeves, and refusing to wait for someone else to fix things for us. I challenge you today to carry on her work, but take it to the next level,” said Councilwoman Berz.
Some of the keynote speakers included Erin Brockovich and Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly.
