CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- An annual tradition to honor those who served our country who are laid to rest this Christmas kicked off Friday morning.

Wreaths across Chattanooga is launching their drive to place a wreath on every single grave at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

They say they were able to place a wreath for the first time on every single grave last year, and are looking to repeat that feat this year.

Food City presented the organization with a ten thousand dollar check, as the grocery store is helping keep wreaths at 10 dollars a grave to make their mission easier.

“Donations like this are critically important to achieve that goal again here in 2024. A lot of people have a misconception that the government, the VA, provides these wreaths, but that’s inaccurate. It comes from donations like this at Food City, from donations in our community,” said
