X, Cloudfare, suffer connection issues Friday

Popular web traffic monitoring website Downdetector reports that X (formerly Twitter), and Cloudfare experienced severe outages today, blocking access for thousands of users.

At its peak, downdetector received over 60,000 reports from users experiencing issues with X.

Cloudfare reported on its website that they were aware of the issue with their services and were working on issuing a fix.

All services appear to have returned to normal as of 12:30PM EST, Friday. The cause of the outage has not been reported.
This comes on the heels of a massive disruption to Verizon’s service earlier this week.
