XXXTentacion’s friend describes rapper’s fatal shooting

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) – The trial of three men accused of fatally shooting the rapper XXXTentacion is underway with a family friend describing the ambush robbery that led to the shooting.

Leonard Kerr told jurors on Tuesday that an SUV blocked the rapper’s BMW sports car as the left a Florida motorcycle store in 2018.

Two gunmen got out and one shot the rapper while stealing $50,000 cash.

Prosecutors say defendants Michael Boatwright, Trayvon Newsome and Dedrick Williams set out to rob people and happened upon the rapper. Their attorneys deny their participation.

They say detectives refused to investigate whether the shooting stemmed from a feud XXXTentacion had with the megastar Drake.
