Youth Villages urges community to meet growing foster needs
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – As the holiday season is approaching, many of us focus on family, togetherness, and celebration. But for children in foster care, this time of year can be especially challenging.
Youth Villages in Chattanooga is working tirelessly to provide support and love for these kids, but they can’t do it alone
The organization is working to ensure every child in foster care feels the warmth and stability of a family. Especially with the closest available home for some children being an hour or more away from their community.
While the holidays are a season of giving, for hundreds of kids in our community, it’s a time when the absence of a family feels even more profound.
Across Hamilton County, hundreds of children are in foster care, many spending the holidays in group homes or temporary placements.
Youth Villages is working to change that by matching children with families who can provide stability – not just during the holidays, but long-term.
And it’s not just about providing a roof over their heads. Youth Villages offers training, financial assistance, and ongoing support for foster families to ensure both the child and the family thrive together.
This holiday season, you have the chance to change a child’s life—whether it’s through fostering, donating, or simply showing you care.
