More than 1,000 wildfires in Alabama during drought plagued October

WALKER COUNTY, Alabama (WDEF) Governor Robert Bentley stresses how serious the fire danger is in Alabama right now.

A No Burn Order is in effect for 46 counties (including all the northeast counties) which bans all outdoor burning.

That includes campfires and burning trash.

You can face a $500 fine and 6 months in jail for violations.

In October, 1,208 wildfires have destroyed more than 11,000 acres.

The Drought Emergency Declaration order remains in effect until rescinded by the State Forester.
