Merchants on Main closing after 13 years of service
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — One local staple, Merchants on Main, will be closing its doors this summer, but their journey will not stop there.
Owners Madi and Missy Steiner were notified at the beginning of the year that their building is being developed. Now, they are forced to leave their spot on Main street after 13 years of service.
The end of their business is bittersweet, but they are grateful that Chattanooga has supported them so much.
For now, much of the future remains unclear, but they are planning to continue selling their products at local markets.
“We don’t plan to continue doing our own store. After 13 years we’re kind of tired and are kind of ready to just step back and take it easy,” said Madi Steiner about their future. “Our plan is to open booth spaces in a couple of different shops. We do have one booth space, there’s a new store opening on Saturday called “Your Local Dive” over on Cherokee Boulevard and she opens on Saturday so we’re gonna have a booth space there.”
You have until the end of May to visit their brick and mortar location.
