I-24 E Lane Closures may Cause Traffic due to Large Hole

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A large hole has formed on the I-24 E bridge over Chestnut St., and lanes have been closed to protect drivers, which will likely cause significant traffic.

The same bridge recently needed an emergency repair, in a different location. TDOT Structures is working to replace the entire deck on the bridge later this year.

In the meantime TDOT’s bridge repair group will be looking to see if a temporary fix can be done to reopen the lane.
