Chambliss Center for Children’s 5th Annual Mardi Gras Gala
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chambliss Center for Children, in collaboration with Events with Taste, will host their 5th Annual Mardi Gras Gala on Friday, February 24th, from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the Bessie Smith Hall, located at 200 East M.L. King Boulevard.
The evening will feature Cajun-inspired fare, cocktails, Dixieland Jazz by the Ralph Miller Quartet, late-evening DJ & dance party, and lots of New Orleans-style fun. The event also features a crowning of the Mardi Gras King and Queen, who will lead guests in a parade throughout the venue.
“We are very confident saying this is the most fun Mardi Gras party in town,” said Katie Harbison, Vice President of Chambliss Center for Children. “Ourattendance grows every year, so it’s a great opportunity to introduce new people to the work Chambliss Center for Children is doing in this community.”
Chambliss Center for Children is a local non-profit organization that has been caring for Chattanooga-area children 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year for 145 years. The mission of the agency is to preserve family unity and to help prevent the dependency, neglect, abuse and delinquency of children by responding to the community’s child care needs. This is done by providing affordable, accessible and quality care through an Extended Early Childhood Education Program, as well as a Residential Program, which recruits and trains foster families and has a group home for children in state custody. In addition to these two programs, the agency also manages five off-site childcare centers and educates and cares for the children of teachers in eleven Hamilton County Schools. Overall, Chambliss Center for Children is caring for more than 650 children throughout the community every day.
Tickets for the Mardi Gras Gala are $60 for individuals or $100 per couple through February 16th. After that, the cost will increase to $70 for individuals and $120 per couple.
