Dr. Bryan Johnson on test score improvement
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – Test scores for Tennessee schools are moving in the right direction, and new Hamilton County Superintendent Dr. Bryan Johnson was encouraged by the numbers.
The state of Tennessee improved across the board. With that improvement across the state, Hamilton County also marked improvement according to the Hamilton County Department of Education.
But even with the improvement, Dr. Johnson still knows there is work to be done here in Hamilton County.
While there may still be work to be done, recent improvement shouldn’t go unnoticed.
Hamilton County students outpaced the state in mathematics. The county’s ranking in the state, compared to other districts, increased by 14.3 percentage points.
Moving forward they have identified some specific content areas in the curriculum that could be improved.
