Four-story hotel proposed for North Shore area
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A Chattanooga developer wants to build a four-story hotel on the north shore next to the Walnut Street Bridge.
Thomas Palmer is asking the city’s Form-Based Code Committee to modify the requirements and allow 4 stories instead of 3.
The proposed 21-room hotel would also include a rooftop, which would offer a view of the downtown area, and the Tennessee River.
A proposed hotel in that area several years ago was rejected.
North shore residents weighed-in on the idea with worries of traffic problems.
The proposed site for the hotel is the vacant Northside Lunch cafe.
