800 block of Chestnut Street to be closed 15 weeks beginning Monday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The city of Chattanooga reports, the 800 block of Chestnut Street will be closed to through traffic for street improvements.

The closure will begin Monday, July 11, 2016.

The repairs should take 15 weeks, with a reopen date of October 24, 2016.

Detours will be posted using 8th Street, Broad Street, and Martin Luther King Boulevard.

To improve access, W 8th Street from Broad Street to Chestnut Street will be converted to two way traffic, and the intersection at W 8th Street and Chestnut Street will be an all way stop.

All property and emergency access will be maintained.
