81-year-old dies in Polk County crash
POLK COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — An 81-year-old man died in a car crash near Reliance in Polk County this week.
It happened at 236 Lost Creek Road.
THP identified the victim as Billie D. Ledford.
Per the THP report, Ledford was driving a 1989 Dodge Power RAM on the road.
As Ledford was going around a curve, his tires were too close to the edge of the road. THP says the road edge gave way, causing the truck to tumble down the embankment.
Ledford was not wearing his seat belt, according to the report.
Officials are unsure when exactly the accident happened.
A passerby spotted the wreckage around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16.
