Point Park, area national parks centers reopen

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (WDEF) – Point Park and area national parks centers are back open now that government has reopened.

Park Rangers were back on the job Saturday at Point Park.

Point Park had to close its gates because of the partial government shutdown.

On its first day reopened several visitors came to check out the park and were happy that it was open to experience.

“This is a great thing because, you know, people can enjoy nature and we were looking for something to do and this looked like a great place to be,” Daniel Gnatyuk said.

The Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center, Lookout Mountain Battlefield Visitor Center and Cravens House also reopened.
