CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Thousands are still without power, after a strong storm blew through the Tennessee Valley Friday afternoon.

EPB says it’s working as quickly as possible to restore power, but 11,000 customers still have their lights out.

Crews have already restored power to thousands of homes each hour.

The power company says it’s in the process of deploying more than 500 utility workers, with crews from here and other areas.

EPB expects to continue restoration efforts through the weekend, since high winds continue to cause damage.

Those high winds have caused more than 500 additional damage incidents across the area so far today.

Customers can report and monitor outages on the myEPB app, and report downed power lines and poles by calling EPB at 423-648-1372.
