NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — For months, Audrey Hale had been planning to commit mass murder at the Covenant School, according to Metro Nashville PD.

Officials reported that Hale acted totally alone.

Officers found documented writings in journals about Hale’s plans. They found the documents in her car in the school parking lot, and in her bedroom.

Her writings revealed that she had been planning this over a period of months, the police department said.

The Metro Nashville PD and the FBI are still reviewing these writings.

Hale considered the actions of other mass murders as well, officials said.

However, police state, “the motive for Hale’s actions has not been established and remains under investigation.”

Additionally, they reveal that she fired 152 rounds total, from the time she shot her way into the school.

Two officers, Rex Engelbert and Michael Collazo, then shot and killed Hale.
