Chattanooga VA Spring Expo to be held Wednesday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Veterans Affairs (VA) is hosting their first annual Spring Expo on Wednesday.Va Spring Expo

They are inviting veterans, their families and the community to attend.

The expo will feature live music, about 40 food and business vendors, and prize giveaways.

It will be held outside the VA on 6401 Shallowford Road, in Chattanooga. It will last from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The VA opened two years ago, but they couldn’t hold a grand opening because of the pandemic.

Now, they are holding this event to let the community know what they have to offer for veterans. They say it is kind of an open house.

Guests will be able to learn about programs such as health care, service animals and anything else veterans may need in Chattanooga.

“We have a long history of taking care of veterans here in Chattanooga. But tomorrow is gonna be a highlight of those organizations. Not just VA, not just federal programs, but private programs that support veterans,” said Dr. Craig Anderson, VA Clinic Administrator.

You do not have to be a veteran to attend. Anderson said anyone who wants to support the Chattanooga veteran community is welcome to attend as well.

He expects this event to be the first of many in Chattanooga. Other similar events are already happening across the country.
