5 juveniles arrested after fleeing police
Three face gun charges, two face evading charges
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Five juveniles ran from police during a traffic stop over the weekend, resulting in all of them being arrested, police say.
According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), a deputy and Chattanooga Police officer attempted to stop the vehicle at midnight Saturday. They performed the traffic stop on the 600 block of Shallowford Road.
As the HCSO deputy arrived, the vehicle fled the scene. All on-scene law enforcement pursued the vehicle and stopped it on Wilcox Boulevard.
Then, police say one of the passengers ran on foot, but was quickly detained.
HCSO deputies also detained the other four occupants. There were four total males and one female involved.
Authorities found three total handguns in the vehicle, with one male having a gun concealed on him.
Two male passengers and the one female face weapons charges. In addition, the other two males face evading charges, HCSO said.
Since all suspects were juveniles, they gave no more information.
