Tunes on the Track returns

COLLEDGEDALE, Tenn. (WDEF) – You don’t have to go to Nashville to hear live music. It’s in our backyard. A couple local artists came out to perform for Tunes on the Track.

Christina Clark, with Collegedale parks and recreation, said, “we are just trying to figure out ways that we can highlight those that are trying to make a name for themselves or those that really just enjoy the art of music.”

Clark said she is excited for the restart of Tunes on the Track, and “it’s a way for us to bring our community together to enjoy something family, safe, fun and that’s what we are all about here.”

Two artists performed tonight in the park.

“We have a thirteen-year-old, KYA who performed for the first time ever last year at our event.so she is back, more confidence, more of a beautiful voice. And we also have Eric Thomas who has been playing guitar since he was seven years old and he is a singer songwriter based out here in Chattanooga,” said Clark.

If you missed tonight, you will have another chance to see some local talent. The next Tunes on the Track is July 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Keep an eye out with Collegedale parks and recreation to find out who will be performing next month.

Clark said, “We are going to contact the folks we have chosen. They have all submitted videos to us, so we are going to take the time to sit down, once we’ve gotten through this one. We are going to sit down and go through all them, make those connections, make sure that we are verified with them and then we will have it out within the next two weeks probably.”

The concert also has food trucks and local business vendors with handouts and giveaways.
