From the Archives: 1993 Alpine Slide

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — For our Thursday Throwback, we look back a summer thrills in our area from year’s past.

We visit the Raccoon Mountain go carts and Alpine Slide in July of 1993.

You used to be able to take a chair lift up the mountain and ride back down on a fiber glass sled.

Ours was the first Alpine slide in the country, but there eventually would be dozens.

Here is our summer adventure from 30 years ago.

The park had a 20 year run in Lookout Valley.

In 1999, the property was sold to make way for the Cummings Cove housing development and golf course.
