Chattanooga School for Creative Arts opens new recording studio
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Chattanooga School for Creative Arts opened its brand-new recording studio.
The state’s Innovative Schools Model Grant paid for the project.
“We did a ribbon cutting for our brand-new state of the art recording studios, special thanks to the state of Tennessee and the innovative schools model grant for the million dollars that they awarded every high school in the state,” said CCA Principal, Dr. Jill Levine. “We have been able to just do remarkable things.”
Students will be able to work with industry standard equipment. Seniors at CCA can also record their vocals for college in the new studio.
“We really want this to be an opportunity for our students to be able to record their audition videos for colleges. We know that some students are vocal like for instrumental and musical theater,” said Vincent Hale, Dean of Fine Arts at CCA.” We also have so many different performances in our auditorium that we will be able to provide high quality recordings of that sound and production is going to make us go to the next level.”
Chattanooga School for Creative Arts hopes to use the studio for collaborative projects in the near future.
But in the meantime, students will train to take their music to the next level.
“Students inspire to be producers, to be able to have that experience and basically be able to command any recording room at any given point in studio anywhere they go,” said Levine. ” It is an incredible gift as a high school student. So, this is giving them life experience and preparing them for future careers in the entertainment industry.”
