Hamilton County corrections officer arrested while off-duty
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — An off-duty officer with Hamilton County was arrested on Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officers booked James Clift, an off-duty Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office corrections corporal, into the Hamilton County Jail.
The sheriff’s office says he faces a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication and for inhaling, selling or possessing glue, paint, gasoline, aerosol or gases, for unlawful purposes.
HCSO placed Clift on administrative leave.
Their internal affairs department is now investigating the incident.
