Sheriff: students admit to making school threats

Students at Sale Creek and Red Bank Middle face charges

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – Hamilton County Sheriff’s officers responded to a pair of school threats on Friday.

The first happened around 7:30 a.m. at Sale Creek Middle/High School.

They say a student made a school shooting threat.

Then around 9:40 a.m., they got a bomb threat at Red Bank Middle School.

Sheriff’s office investigators say in both cases, a student admitted to making the threats.

Both juveniles have been charged with threat of mass violence on school property or school activity.

The sheriff’s office also says that after their investigations, neither was a credible threat.
