Brush fire burns overnight in Lookout Valley

The Tennessee Forestry has released Chattanooga firefighters.

Fire officials said the Forestry will be conducting fire suppression activities throughout the day. They will be using helicopter water drops on the fire until the blaze is out.

Forestry crews cut a fire break to help contain it as well.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga firefighters and the Tennessee Forestry Commission are working a brush fire in Lookout Valley.

As of 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, the fire was still burning.

The fire is located between Wauhatchie Pike and Lookout Creek, near Cummings Highway.

Chattanooga firefighters first responded to help Tuesday afternoon. They remained on site overnight.

According to the Chattanooga Fire Department, the fire is in a steep, wooded area. They state that it’s hard to access with personnel and equipment.

In addition, the fire is not threatening and homes or buildings as of Wednesday morning.
