Mayors Roberts and Ramsey Honored with Memorial Plaques
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Two Hamilton County titans were honored posthumously today at the Hamilton County Courthouse.
Former Hamilton County Mayors Dalton Roberts and Claude Ramsey were each designated memorial plaques in Hamilton County.
Mayor Ramsey will have a memorial parkway on Discovery Drive at Enterprise South to honor his efforts to turn that area into an industrial park anchored by the Volkswagen Plant.
Mayor Roberts will be honored with a plaque in the Tennessee Riverpark for his efforts to help create the Riverpark to create recreation for generations.
Former Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger said, “They did this all while keeping their eye on the ball about what was going to move Hamilton County forward. They were strong, they were firm, they were honest, and they were well respected, and most of all, they were fair.”
Mayor Ramsey passed away in 2018 and Mayor Roberts passed away in 2015.
