Chattanooga roads closed with hazards from storms

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Department of Transportation closed several roads due to wires, trees and other hazards being down in the roads.

As of 1:30 p.m., these roads were closed.

  • 3710 St. Elmo Avenue, between W 37th Street and W 38th Street.
    • Wires down.
  • 6322 Ridge Lake Road
    • Wires down.
  • 1507 Hickory Valley Road
    • The road is completely blocked by wires. Use Lee Highway/Highway 64 as a detour.
  • 3500 Cummins Highway
    • Lanes are blocked by an unknown hazard.
  • 5952 Shallowford Road
    • Lanes blocked by unknown hazard. Use Polymer Drive as detour or Jersey Pike.
  • Lightfood Mill Road at Deerfoot Drive
    • Possible trees down.

CDOT said road conditions may get worse throughout the day as high winds continue.

Report flooded roads, or trees and wires down by calling 423-643-6311 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. After hours, call the CPD non-emergency number at 423-698-2525.
