Residents want details about potential Soddy-Daisy property tax increase
SODDY-DAISY, Tenn. (WDEF) – Some Soddy-Daisy residents are saying they are against potential property tax increases from their municipal government.
Residents with Concerned Citizens for District One say they have received word that the Soddy-Daisy Commission will be discussing a property tax increase at their meeting this upcoming Thursday
They are upset that there has been no public notice filed about this upcoming meetings, including details on that increase.
They are calling for the city to be more transparent with citizens.
One of the leaders of Concerned Citizens for District One, Ryan Jenkins, said, “You know I just feel like we have somewhat of a gap between the citizens and the local government. I’m not saying it’s anyone’s fault but I just feel like the citizens need to be connected as possible and have a voice on decisions like this can impact generations to come.”
We spoke with Soddy-Daisy City Hall, who say they will have the agenda for the meeting Thursday evening at 7 p.m. up by sometime Tuesday.
They could not confirm what will be on that agenda.
