EPB power outage affects nearly 30,000 customers

CHATTNOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — On Tuesday morning, thousands of people were without power, according to the EPB Energy Outage Map.

Most of the outages were being reported in the North Chattanooga area.

Sophie Moore with EPB said, “Some EPB customers experienced an outage due to a problem in one of our substations. We utilized our smart grid to restore service to all customers within minutes. We are currently working to identify and resolve the issue that caused this interruption.”

If you are without power, report your condition to EPB to obtain an accurate report.

They are working at resolving outages across the service area.
