Union Gospel Mission providing water to unhoused neighbors as temperatures rise
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. “We want to see their lives impacted and changed, we want to see them making good decisions and this is just a small way to help”. said Executive director John Rector.
With the temperatures reaching the upper 90’s this week, staying hydrated is crucial this summer and the Union Gospel Mission are doing everything they can to beat the heat.
Volunteers will be handing out water and any other necessities for unhoused neighbors all summer.
“So, if they’d like to donate that would be great, just bring them by here and drop them off. We gladly take donations of gift cards, Food City, Publix, and Walmart whatever is convenient for them, or they can mail those in. We will be doing this all summer long” said Executive director John Rector
Union Gospel Mission have been working hard to spread this campaign and bring awareness to those in need.
” This is our way of just being the hands and feet of Christ to those in need, whether they are out there because of their circumstances or by choice it’s a great feeling to be able to get out and help and give them something as simple as a cold drink of water.”
Donations start June 11th around 9:00 AM.
