New ESPN radio station launches in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF)- ESPN Radio has a new home in our area.

WCLE 104.1 FM in Cleveland has announced the launch of ESPN Cleveland 101.3 FM.

Previously, ESPN Radio had been on 95.3 FM until that station was sold, leaving the Chattanooga area without an ESPN radio affiliate.

Steve Hartline, the radio station’s owner, says they saw this as an opportunity to cater to our area’s rabid sports culture.

“This is a sports loving, sports crazy community, and when I say crazy I’m not just talking about Rick Nyman. So they love sports, our motto for our stations is creating community for all our stations in everything that we do, so we feel like through sports there’s community,” said Hartline.

The station is now live on the air and is streaming on their website.

They will have plenty of games including the following teams/leagues:

  • Bradley Central High School football
  • Selected high school basketball games
  • Tennessee Volunteers (including this weekend’s College World Series National Championship)
  • NASCAR
  • Atlanta Braves day games
  • Lee University
  • Georgia Bulldogs football
  • Atlanta Falcons

Additionally, there will be a locally produced sports talk show from 4-6 p.m. hosted by Dewayne Williams and Josh Rogers.

Otherwise, the station will syndicate national ESPN Radio programming.
