Father saves two-year-old from drowning in pool

HIXSON, Tenn. (WDEF) — A fun, family event turned into a state of panic when a two-year-old nearly drowned in a pool on Sunday.

During a party at 8516 Bay Run Drive, another child saw the toddler at the bottom of the pool and alerted his father.

The parent jumped into the pool and began performing life-saving measures.

Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department reported that the child started coughing and began breathing again.

HCEMS took the child to the hospital for further medical care.

Dallas Bay VFD Chief Marcus Fritts and emergency personnel commend the dad for his quick actions in saving the child.
