East Brainerd two alarm house fire
UPDATE: A fire destroyed on home and badly damaged another in East Brainerd yesterday
Firefighters were called to the 1800 block of Oakvale Drive, just after 6.
In all, eight structures were damaged.
“number of 911 calls indicating that we had a fire in there and we knew the house was under construction the firefighters did their job quickly and efficiently they got there as quick as they could to put the fire out but it was a home under construction that didn’t have sheet rock in it yet a lot of exposed lumber and that was the reason for such a quick and hot fire,” said Phil Hyman, Fire Chief for the City of Chattanooga.
Still no official word on what caused the fire
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Fire destroyed one house and badly damaged the one next door in East Brainerd, Tuesday (7/16/24).
Firefighters were called to the 1800 block of Oakvale Drive, just after 6.
The home, where the fire started, was still under construction, but it almost finished.
It’s a total loss.
The house next was brand new and for sale.
It will need a lot of work.
Six nearby structures were also damaged.
No people were hurt.
Crews got scene under control within 20 minutes.
No official word what caused that fire.
