Two hunters plead guilty to shooting deer on military park land
FORT OGLETHORPE, Georgia (WDEF) – Two local men have pleaded guilty to hunting deer on federal park land.
William Lough from Trenton and Jonathan Plaster from Rossville both pleaded guilty in federal court in April.
Both face fines.
They were both charged with illegal hunting of 2 white-tailed deer on park land.
Park officials say they’ve seen a spike in illegal hunting on park land in the Lookout Creek area in Lookout Valley.
The Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park does include land on and next to Lookout Mountain, plus several sites in Chattanooga.
Park officials ask that if you see someone hunting on military park land, please call 911.
