Signal Mountain suspect in domestic assault case arrested

UPDATE:  After the Signal Mountain Police Department (SMPD) reached out to the public, Hamilton County Sheriffs Office (HCSO) arrested Phillip Chad Shipley Saturday, August 31, 2024.

SMPD posted to Facebook saying, “Shipley was arrested on our warrants last night.”

In the post, SMPD also thanked the public for sharing their post and thanked those who “contacted us about finding him.”

SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, Tennessee (WDEF) – Signal Mountain Police are looking for a domestic violence suspect.

They were called to a home on Wednesday for an assault.

The woman said she had recruited her boyfriend, Phillip Chad Shipley to do a plumbing job at the house.

But she says he got angry, assaulted her and tried to drag her into a vehicle.

Shipley fled before officers arrived.

They are looking for him now on Aggravated Assault and Kidnapping charges.
