Jasper TN juvenile threatens Dade County Middle School
DADE COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — The Dade County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) and Jasper Police Department (JPD) assisted in locating a juvenile who made threats toward Dade County Middle School.
DCSO received information regarding a juvenile who made threats towards Dade County Middle School via social media.
The juvenile is a residence of Jasper, Tennessee in Marion County.
As a precautionary measure, DCSO deputies responded to Dade County Middle School and notified the school system.
JPD quickly acted to locate the juvenile, and took them into custody.
JPD notified DCSO once the juvenile had been detained.
The juvenile will be charged with Threat of Mass Violence on School Property or at School-Related Activity.
“We will always take school threats seriously. We will investigate and PROSECUTE any threat of violence to our school system, to the fullest extent of the law, with ZERO tolerance. I want to thank everyone in Marion County for their assistance with this, as well as Jasper PD for their quick response and location of the juvenile. My investigators will continue to work with Tennessee authorities on this case, offering assistance with anything they need,” stated Dade County Sheriff, Ray Cross in a Facebook post.
