Dolly Days Dazzles Downtown Ringgold

RINGGOLD, GA (WDEF) – It was all rhinestones and Southern charm in Ringgold this past Saturday as the city celebrated one of country music’s most beloved icons.

Downtown Ringgold turned into a tribute to Dolly Parton this past Saturday, as fans gathered for the annual Dolly Days celebration.

From wigs and western boots to sequins and southern sass, guests of all ages got into the Dolly spirit… Many even dressed up for the Dolly look-alike contest.

Fans traveled from all over to be part of the celebration, including one visitor who flew in all the way from Ireland just to attend.

The morning started bright and early with the Dolly Dash, featuring 1-mile, 5K, and 10K races. Proceeds from the run went toward local nonprofits serving foster families and youth in need.

Nashville Street was closed to traffic, but wide open to live music, food trucks, artisan vendors, and families ready for fun.

Kids enjoyed bounce houses, face painting, and pony rides, while parents danced along to performances by Shelby Lynn, Nina Ricci, Ethan Slaughter, Jazz Freaks, Sweet Georgia Sound and Karen Waldrup on the Ringgold Stage.

Even the pets got in on the fun, with a pet parade that drew big cheers from the crowd.

It was a full day of celebrating a country legend, with a small town’s big heart on display.

Organizers say they’re already planning to make next year’s Dolly Days even bigger.
