Ringgold’s Historic Jamboree Shines Bright
RINGGOLD, GA (WDEF) – Memorial Day weekend brought music, food, and a little bit of history to downtown Ringgold, Georgia.
The 1890 Days Jamboree is a beloved tradition that draws thousands each year, and it all started with a simple idea from two local women nearly 50 years ago.
For nearly five decades, the 1890 Days Jamboree has transformed the small town of Ringgold into a bustling celebration of the past.
Founded in 1975 by Betty Land and Juanita Caldwell, the event was inspired by Dahlonega’s Gold Rush Days.
Their vision? A hometown festival that honored tradition, with a twist.
What started as a nod to the 1890s, with locals dressing in era-themed attire, has become a staple of Ringgold’s identity, bringing in over 20,000 visitors to a town of just 3,500.
Spanning two days, the event offers something for everyone: arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, a car cruise-in, live music on multiple stages, and a grand fireworks finale Saturday night.
Whether it’s your first time or your 40th, the Jamboree is a celebration of community, heritage, and small-town spirit.
The 1890 Days Jamboree continues to grow each year, proving that a little nostalgia, a lot of heart, and great music never go out of style.
