FBI agents investigating Abdulazeez confronted by kid with fake gun
According to FBI special agent Ed Reinhold, agents were confronted by a teenager who pulled a fake shotgun on them as they approached an apartment inside the Mountain Creek Apartment complex.
The agents were attempting to raid an apartment of an associate of Abdulazeez when they were confronted by the teenager.
When they ordered the kid down to the ground, and searched him, they found a hand gun. But Reinhold told reporters that both the shotgun and the handgun turned out to be air-soft guns.
Agent Reinhold praised his fellow agents on the restraint they used when they were confronted.
According to another agent at the scene, the kid was not charged with a crime but given a warning.
It’s unclear what agents were specifically looking for inside the apartment but they were wearing evidence gloves when they went in.
Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, 24, of Hixson was killed in a gun fight with police after he shot and killed four Marines and a Navy Petty Officer in the parking lot of a military training center on Amnicola Highway last Thursday. Since that deadly incident, FBI agents have been tracking down many leads to determine Abdulazeez’s motives and whether or not he had any help planning the attack.
