Rhea County investigating racist social media posts about Red Bank

One of the posts on the now deleted @rheaco_barstool Instagram account. There were several other posts that were racist in nature directed at Red Bank.

This account was not officially tied to Rhea County High School or Barstool Sports.

There were numerous posts leading up to the Rhea County-Red Bank football game last Friday night that were offensive and racist in nature.

We are not showing the majority of them.

Rhea County Director of Schools Dr. Amie Lonas says the posts do not reflect the school or community’s feelings towards Red Bank, and that the schools have a healthy rivalry.

She says this is being investigated by the Rhea County Sheriff’s Office and Hamilton County law enforcement, and that they will deal with the persons responsibly quote, “accordingly” enquote.
