Perimeter Properties purchases Motor Wheel’s facility
UPDATE: Andy Stone of Perimeter Properties says his team is brainstorming ways this building could enhance the experience in the Foundry District.
Stone said, “The original wooden windows are still in the rafters and they’ve plastered over them on the outside, but inside you can still see the glass and see the wooden window frames. You can see some of these large trusses there. There are beautiful pine wood trust systems that support the roof to pull out those features they’re really neat.”
First pitch at Erlanger Park is scheduled for April 14, 2026.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Perimeter Properties announced the purchase of Motor Wheel’s facility on November 2025.
According to Bridge Public Affairs, Motor Wheel, who manufactures brake parts, will move to a facility in the South Broad District.
“Our facility on Sidney Street proudly employed generations of Chattanoogans for over a century, and we are thrilled to continue to provide highly skilled, manufacturing jobs at our new Alton Park location for many years to come. I look forward to returning to our facility often to see how it will be given new life as a major fixture in the Foundries District,” Jeff Bates, General Manager of Motor Wheel said.
With the purchase of Motor Wheel, the current site will not be demolished.
Rather, it will be rehabilitated and repurposed for the community to use.
Plans for the Motor Wheel facility will come at a later date.
